EPL: When Liverpool will be crowned champions after Watford defeat

Liverpool’s bamboozling march to their first Premier League title in 30 years, suffered a minor setback when they were battered 3-0 by Watford on Saturday night.

Jurgen Klopp is seeing a Senegalese win games, but at Vicarage Road, it was Ismaila Sarr and not Sadio Mane, that shone like a million stars.

Sarr scored twice in the second half and set up Troy Deeney for the last goal, as the Hornets ended Liverpool’s 44-game unbeaten run.

The Premier League leaders’ first defeat this season, means they still need 12 points from their final 10 matches to be confirmed champions.

If both Liverpool and City keep winning from now on, Liverpool’s chance to secure the fourth win they need will come against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, April 5.

However, fixture changes could play a part.

If Liverpool qualify for the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, their home match with Crystal Palace on March 21 will be moved.

City’s league fixture at Chelsea on March 21 will also be moved if they win at Sheffield Wednesday in the fifth round.

It’s, however, hard to see both of these games being moved before the Manchester City versus Liverpool game, with an international break straight after the FA Cup quarter-finals.

But three more wins will be enough as long as one of those is against Manchester City.
